Herbert McLean Evans (September 23, 1882-March 6, 1971) was an American anatomist and embryologist. Born in Modesto, California,
he obtained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1908 and became an associate professor of anatomy. Evans moved
back to California in 1915 and was made professor of anatomy at the University of California, Berkeley where he held that
position until his death.
